What Darien does to a window
McIntosh County is more marsh than land, and the glass shows it. Darien sits on a bluff over the Darien River and the Altamaha delta, and the homes along the waterfront and the Ridgeville bluff take a damp salt haze off the marsh every morning that leaves a gray film on the water side of the house. Out at Shellman Bluff, Sapelo Hammock and Harris Neck the lots sit right on the tidal creeks, and a nor'easter or a fall storm pushes a hard salt line onto the glass that does not rinse off in the rain.
The oaks are the other half of it. Darien and Crescent sit under live oaks that are centuries old, and from late February into April the pollen covers every pane, followed by tannin drip from the moss and leaves after every rain. The shade keeps north-facing glass damp enough for mildew, well-water sprinklers leave orange iron streaks along the lower panes, and the shrimp and recreational boat traffic on the creeks keeps a layer of exhaust film on anything facing the water. Many of the creek-front homes are weekend places, which is when salt film does the most damage.
Creek-front and river-front homes at Shellman Bluff, Sapelo Hammock and the Darien waterfront do best every two months. Homes in town under the oaks do well quarterly, with the inside glass done once a year either way. We keep the McIntosh routes on the same weekday each cycle, and the long drives out to the bluffs are built into the day.

Can you remove hard water spots from sprinklers?
In most cases, yes. Mineral spots from sprinkler overspray need a dedicated treatment rather than regular cleaning. Tell us about them on the quote form and we will look at them on the first visit.
